British Columbia invited 429 workers to apply for provincial nomination on September 10, 2026. The draw targeted four sectors under the BC Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) Skills Immigration stream.

This was the first sector-specific draw since August 6. It focused on childcare, health care, veterinary care, and construction trades.

Draw Results by Sector

The invitations were distributed across four targeted categories, with minimum required registration scores for each.

CategoryInvitations IssuedMinimum Score
Childcare (Care: Childcare)18299
Health Care (Care: Health)14376
Construction Trades (Build: Construction Trades)10494
Veterinary Care (Care: Veterinary Care)Fewer than 590

Childcare was the largest single category, issuing 182 invitations to early childhood educators. The health care category followed with 143 invitations across all its priority occupations.

Score Thresholds Shift

The most significant change was in the health care category. Its minimum required score dropped from 84 in August to 76 in September. Immigration.ca notes this is the lowest threshold recorded for Care: Health in 2026. The number of invitations in that category rose from 124 to 143.

Childcare's cut-off also eased, falling from 102 to 99. The volume of invitations there remained nearly unchanged at 182.

Construction and veterinary care moved in the opposite direction. The minimum score for construction trades rose from 88 to 94, and invitations fell sharply from 187 to 104. This represents the smallest construction round since the category was reorganized in April 2026. Veterinary care tightened from 72 to 90, with fewer than five invitations issued.

The Care: Education category, which appeared briefly in August, was absent from this round.

Registration Pool Snapshot

As of September 1, 2026, the BC PNP Skills Immigration registration pool held 8,013 registrations. This was down from 8,306 on August 4.

The bulk of candidates sit in score bands now within reach of the latest draws. According to the provincial data, 1,559 registrations score between 100 and 109, 1,444 between 90 and 99, and 1,236 between 80 and 89. With the health care threshold at 76, roughly half the registration pool is now within range of an invitation in that category.

Provincial Nomination Process

These draws operate under British Columbia's "Care, Build, Innovate" framework. This system restructured the Skills Immigration program in April 2026 to direct nominations toward roles critical to the provincial labour market and public services. Care and Build rounds target specific occupations in health, childcare, education, veterinary, and construction fields.

The BC PNP only issues invitations to qualified registrations submitted before the draw date. Invited candidates must then submit a complete application through BC PNP Online within a set timeframe. A provincial nomination through the BC PNP adds 600 points to a candidate's federal Comprehensive Ranking System score, virtually guaranteeing an invitation for permanent residence in a subsequent Express Entry round.
