Alberta Issues Invitations to Candidates in Healthcare, Agriculture, and Tech Occupations
The Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) has invited 367 candidates to apply for provincial nomination in various in-demand sectors.

Between August 4 and August 12, the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) issued invitations to 367 candidates to apply for provincial nomination.
Invitations were targeted at individuals in various in-demand sectors, including agriculture, healthcare, and tech. The AAIP has conducted a total of 69 provincial immigration draws over the course of 2026.

The province's latest AAIP draws saw invitations issued through the following streams and pathways:

The highest proportion of invitations was issued to candidates under the Rural Renewal Stream, at 34.6%. The August 4 draw targeting candidates in the healthcare sector features the highest cutoff for this draw type in 2026 thus far.
## Breakdown of Alberta's Provincial Nomination Figures
Alberta has been granted additional nominations by the federal government, bringing its total 2026 allocation to 6,603-up from 6,403. As of August 12, the province reports having used a total of 4,184 nominations, leaving 2,419 slots available for the remainder of 2026.

Alberta also reports having nominated 50 practice-ready physicians and 12 francophone candidates through supplementary nomination spaces; these do not count toward the province's 2026 PNP allocation.
## Worker Expressions of Interest and Applications Awaiting Processing
Alberta's WEOI pool contained 36,932 profiles as of August 12, with approximately 63.1% submitted under the Alberta Opportunity Stream. The province had a total of 1,336 nomination applications awaiting a final decision as of that date.
AAIP entrepreneur streams are not represented in the worker EOI pool, as they follow a separate consideration process.
