Manitoba invited 741 candidates for provincial nomination on August 27, with a heavy focus on skilled trades and transportation workers.
The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) issued 741 invitations to apply for provincial nomination on August 27. According to a report from CIC News, the draw heavily targeted candidates in trades and transportation occupations, with 600 invitations issued for that sector alone.
Selected candidates received Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) and have 60 days to submit a complete application to the MPNP. Provincial nominees can request work permit support letters to apply for federal work permits. After submitting a permanent residence application, they may also be eligible for a bridging open work permit.

Skilled Worker in Manitoba
This category targeted in-province workers. The MPNP issued 600 invitations based on employment in an occupation under National Occupational Classification (NOC) major group 72. This group covers technical trades and transportation officers and controllers.
A further 62 invitations were issued to candidates employed as bus drivers and transit operators (NOC 73301) or as general practitioners and family physicians (NOC 31102). Overall, these occupation-specific selections accounted for 89.3% of all invitations in the draw. Skilled Worker Stream and Francophone Selection
A total of 58 skilled workers, both in Manitoba and overseas, received invitations. They were selected because the MPNP had invited them through a strategic recruitment initiative or the now-expired Temporary Public Policy to Facilitate Work Permits for Prospective Provincial Nominee Candidates. Candidates from the Employer Services initiative represented the largest share of this group, at approximately 48.3%. Selection via recruitment initiative accounted for about 7.8% of all LAAs issued.
The province also invited 21 French-speaking candidates. To be selected, candidates needed to have indicated French as their language of communication with the MPNP and to hold valid French language test results.
